Take a moment and check out our wonderful studio, excellent teachers and several examples of our many styles of classes offered weekly. We have created a wonderful community at Half Moon that welcomes newcomers with open arms. Come visit us soon!
WITH SETH RITTER $15
Seth Ritter will grace our studio with his massive collection of Himalayan Singing Bowls both Friday 7/21 from 6-7pm and again on Sunday 8/20 from 3:30-4:30pm! This is one of our favorite special events at HMY and we are so grateful for Seth offering it to our community once a month. Nada yoga is the yoga of sound and vibration and science has shown the importance of these specific sounds. Energy is vibration and the vibrational frequencies you receive from this sound bath effect us at a cellular level. At this cellular level, we can relax and receive some therapeutic healing. You must try this for yourself because the experience is something you should bear witness to in order to appreciate and understand. This Nada yoga is also a great way to break up the mindless chatter we often get trapped in so one can experience a profound state of meditation. This meditation can be grounding or transcendental depending on your current state and intention. It’s always fun to see what shows up and exactly what will happen.
WITH ANN COFFEY & ROBBIE SHORT $30 prepaid or $35 day of event
Ann Coffey & Robbie Short were at one time the only teachers at Half Moon Yoga and are happy to reunite to bring you a beautiful blend of healing practices! Ann now works at an acupuncturist office in Green Hills and is now qualified to administer acudetox. In fact, they are the pioneers to this Middle Tennessee area to offer such a dose of goodness! This idea has recently spread to other local studios because of it’s potency:) Ann administers the acupuncture through the ears after Robbie leads some Yin Yoga that opens up the meridians or energetic channels according to chinese medicine. This is also what the needles supply and while you are lounging with the needles, Robbie leads you into Yoga Nidra, the fine art of relaxation. Yoga Nidra alone has been shown scientifically to alter the brain waves as if you were in your deepest realm of sleep. This realm offers the mind/body/spirit an opportunity to heal at multiple levels. AcuDetox is primarily used for helping one to detox whether it’s addictions or just stress. Limited to 12 participants so sign up early!
WITH Madison Hammack $10
Madison will be leading our summer kids yoga class for ages 3-9. Madison is nicknamed Bala, a Sanskrit name for child because she has the perfect childlike energy to lead our new seasonal practices. Parents are welcome to drop their children off at the studio for the hour while they run errands, but it’s also optional for you to stay and participate. This practice is meant to be fun for the children even though they will also learn some important yogic lessons as well.
WITH ROBBIE SHORT & MASSOOD TAJ $30
Robbie will lead a YIn/Yang yoga practice that is a blend of both active and passive poses while Massood provides Live Sound Therapy with various indigenous instruments. Having live music creates a certain ambiance that we love but rarely receive in the studio so it is truly a special treat and worth attending!

With RIKKI DONAHUE & STEPHANIE JONES $45 each session or $125 for ALL
Trauma is an experience that overwhelms our capacity to cope. It effects the mind, body, & spirit. It can rob us of the feeling that we are in charge of ourselves. As an in depth introduction to Trauma Sensitive Yoga and mind/body resources, participants will have an opportunity to understand the physical, mental, and emotional effects of trauma, to explore research based coping resources, and stress reduction techniques to reclaim empowerment through the ancient art of yoga, shamanic healing exercises, as well as through identifying our own personal hero’s journey. Prior yoga experience is not necessary and all are welcome. Anyone who has ever navigated the challenging journey of PTSD, childhood trauma, difficult times, are highly encouraged to attend. Even those who work with trauma survivors such as teachers, counselors, and social workers are encouraged to attend. Part 3: Empowered Journey Through Trauma
Sunday 3-6:30pm $45
When we feel empowered and connected, we access our ability to consciously transform emotional trauma into medicine for the soul. In this session, we will be introduced to our Hero’s journey, which will act as a guide for honoring and reclaiming our own resilience. WITH HOLLY GARCIA $30
Several times a year we offer a beginner’s yoga workshop. We understand from a beginner’s mind that yoga can be intimidating. After all, you only have an idea or perception about what yoga is and it can be a bit confusing looking at the schedule and seeing all these different names and you are unsure how to navigate considering some are written literally in the Sanskrit language. You are also trying something brand new which can be exciting to some degree but also a little frightful if you are stepping beyond your comfort zone and not sure how your body is going to respond. This is exactly why we offer these workshops! Holly will teach you some fundamental postures as well as what to expect in various styles. She will also cover the importance of the breath and how one should breathe as well as operate their body mechanics according to the breath! Let Holly put you at ease if you are new or if you just feel like you need to relearn the basics. She can also answer any questions you have and after seeing your practice, gear you towards the right class for you and your level of ability! Holly will offer another one of these March 26th called Spring into Action.
